Driver’s License Requirement:
Driver must be in possession of a valid driver's license held for at least 1 year without any endorsements and penalties. The driver's license must be valid for a minimum of one week or for the entire duration of the rental period, whichever is longer.
Visitors from the below list of countries are allowed to drive in the UAE with their local valid driving license.
GCC Countries: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar.
European countries: Lithuania, Portugal, Hungary, Bulgaria, Latvia, Serbia, Luxembourg Iceland, Estonia, Cyprus, Slovakia, Slovenia, Malta, Albania, Romania, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Finland, Spain, Netherlands, Belarus, Greece, Sweden, Belgium, Ireland, Turkey, Denmark, Austria, France, Britain, Norway, The Republic of Montenegro, Ukraine, Croatia.
Northern American countries: United States of America, Canada.
East Asian countries/Oceania: Japan, South Korea, Israel, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Hong Kong, People's Republic of China, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore.
African countries: South Africa
An international driving permit is required for visitors from any other country. If the driver’s license is not in English, legal English translation will be required. UAE Driving License is required for renters holding UAE Residence Visa. Any visitors on a work visa must ensure that they have the required residence visa and meet the previous requirement before they will be able to rent.
Passport and ID Requirement:
Tourist: Drivers must present a valid original passport at the time of rental.
UAE Residents: Drivers are required to present a valid original Emirates ID, along with a copy of their valid passport and residence visa.
UAE and GCC Nationals: Only a valid national ID is required.
